Maize Wallin

Conjunct (2013)

CONJUNCT is a traditional art exhibition by day, and an interactive dance, art, design, music and light show by night.

There are seven pieces in the space. Each one composed by visual artist, dancer, musician, costume design, and lighting.
The visual art varies from sculpture, painting, installation, print and projection. The dances include contemporary, ballet, hiphop and the all the mixtures between. Music all composed by Maize Wallin shows of her distinctive sample based style with heavy contrasts between choppy beats and legato melodies, spread out along 16 speakers. The lighting controlling the whole progression of the show and guiding the audience's physical paths is dynamic and dramatic.

The show aims to show art in its truest form, as an experience. The audience are drawn to each performance as it happens through the lighting, direction of sound, and the dancers literally coming out of the artworks. At the same time they can look at all the other visual artworks in the space.

You are invited to come more than once, so you can experience the show from all different angles and from as many different levels as you can.
